Just Ride (J.R.) Cycling Coaching

Empowering Young Athletes

Consummate Athlete offers several services for youth athletes (under 18 years old), parents, coaches, and clubs. Our philosophy for youth training is summed up by the initials J.R. or ‘JUST RIDE’. Biking should be fun and with friends so we can do it for many years! When possible we encourage athletes and parents to use local coaches and programs and we are here to support individuals and groups with our services as needed.

Programs for Youth

To be clear our programming is NOT meant to replace or compete with clubs/coaches. If you have a coach you work with and who knows you then their programming will be sufficient and relevant to you, especially if it involves in-person sessions.

We offer 4 free printable PDF plans that can serve as an effective template for how to be training year round (i.e. fall/winter/spring/summer). Please contact us to request.

Skills Sessions

We offer bike skills sessions for Individuals, Friends, Families, Groups, and Clubs. Please contact us with any questions or requests or use the booking link to find a time for a bike skills lesson.

Youth Clubs – Teams – Groups

Clubs may contact us to inquire about group programming for training plans or in-person weekly skills/ride curriculum. We have helped clubs build their yearly plan for groups of athletes pursuing similar events and/or for the clubs weekly meetings. Having a pre-planned season of sessions makes sure the club delivers similar programming each year, to each level of athlete and helps the coaches spend time with the athletes rather than creating lesson plans for scratch each week.

The Three Month Plan Made For You

Athletes aged 15 years and older can request a 3 Month Made for You Plan. This custom plan will encourage and integrate school sports, outdoor play, cross-training and multi-discipline cycling (including playing on the bike!). The plan can serve as a base for those athletes who do not have access to school or club sport.

This plan is applied to your Training Peaks account (available for free here) and leaves options for athletes to add/remove and tweak the plan to fit their preferences, energy and time available.
