Alexandra Coates is a retired ITU elite triathlete, a triathlon coach, and a PhD candidate in exercise physiology. Alex is now in her 4th year of her PhD in exercise physiology at the University of Guelph. Her research focuses on what happens when we push too far, or when we recover insufficiently from training. She has published papers in the areas of iron deficiency and anemia, relative-energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), overtraining, and exercise-induced cardiac fatigue.
