Whether you just started watching the Marie Kondo show on Netflix and want to spark joy in your life by tidying up, or you just realize you have waaaaay too much running kit / shoes that go unworn or underutilized, and you’d rather make some space for new stuff, you don’t want to just throw out old gear. It’s both a) wasteful and b) painful. I’m a huge fan of organizing a big clothing/gear swap within your friend group or run crew, but if that’s not your jam, there are plenty of ways to both donate your old gear to someone in need, or even sell some of the barely used gear for some extra cash. Over on MapMyRun, I run through all the options for what to do with old clothing so you finally feel OK cleaning out your closet.
PS: If you haven’t already, clean these things in your gear closet STAT
