“The ONE Thing” is December’s Athletic Bookworms Pick

This month’s Athletic Bookworms pick is one that I chose because in December, the tendency — at least for me — is to write a laundry list of New Year’s Resolutions that’s so extensive that the odds of me keeping them is slim to none. In recent years, I started opting for blanket one-word resolutions, which has gone a long way to helping with that, but I wanted to get even more clear about my area of focus for 2019. Enter: The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.

Greg Keller is a real estate salesman who went from a small company to co-owning Keller Williams, and he credits his business success to his focus on ONE thing at a time.  The book has gone on to be a huge bestseller, and while I’m having some issues with the idea of one thing, I love a lot of the points that he makes. Similar to The Motivation Manifesto, this has to be read with a grain of salt, but it is really good food for thought as we enter the new year with big plans for our training and our lives and work.
