I was super excited when Cyclephotos’ Balint Hamvas asked me to contribute a chapter to the 2020-2021 Cyclephotos Cyclocross Photo Book. His yearly photobooks documenting the cyclocross scene are beautiful, and over the last decade, I’ve gotten to see him at hundreds of races, meticulously working to capture the highlights of each event. The books themselves are gorgeous, and this year, I’m thrilled that I have a chapter in this edition! I wrote about how women’s cyclocross has grown and changed in the last decade, and it gave me a fabulous excuse to talk to three women who’ve raced through the decade, made major leaps for women’s racing with their results and advocacy, and are just all-around badass women. Katerina Nash, Katie Compton and Helen Wyman all shared their stories—and we really got into some deep conversations.
