You know when you start talking with someone as an interview and realize almost immediately that you would love to hang out with them in real life, plus it’s an awesome interview? Yeah, that’s how I felt when I got to talk to speed-skating, bike-riding Bronze medalist Mia Manganello. What a rad woman! We covered a bunch of info, from her journey through speed skating to her pro racing years as a roadie to her newly minted Bronze medal from the Winter Olympics. And then, we got into living a healthy lifestyle and diet—and as a great chef herself (she’s from a family of them!), we dug into some recipes, too.
(To give you a taste.. “I really love a teriyaki salmon with white rice and sautéed veggies. Super simple. Rice cooker cooks rice in 20 minutes, you chop up zucchini and squash and sauté them for a few minutes, take an 8-ounce portion of salmon and sear it, then drizzle my favorite teriyaki sauce on top and boom, done.” YUM!!!)
