The Introvert’s Guide To Surviving Workout Classes

by | Feb 4, 2018 | Training

It might come as a surprise to some of you (not anyone who’s met me in real life, but those of you more used to me writing things on the internet), I’m a serious introvert. Seriously: I once cried when my mom tried to drop me off at a soccer practice. Having the chance to offer some advice on getting through workout classes when you’re an extreme introvert was something I was actually really excited to do over on Nylon’s site, and I think it’s one of the most ‘real’ things I’ve ever written. Bottom line: with few little proactive / pre-emptive moves, you can enjoy any workout class, from spin to aerial silks to yoga, without panicking about needing to talk to people. And no, one of the pieces of advice isn’t ‘bring a friend along,’ because I am SO sick of that $hit as someone who’s trying to figure out a way to take a class without dealing with people! Anyway, whether you’re an introvert or you know someone who’s avoiding classes for that reason, give it a read or pass this along! #IntrovertsUnite #ButNotReallyBecauseWeNeedOurAloneTime
