- There are Confusing Short-Forms / Terms – See Day 4 of Getting Started
- The workout seems complicated – Pay most attention to the TITLE and the Description of the workout – There is often a 3rd ‘Download description’ that is for a smart trainer. Focus on the Title/description (the 80% that matters). Read more about this.

Consummate Athlete Tenets
Getting started with coaching will take some time, just like any new program, relationship, or pursuit. The 3 Tenants help you make decisions about how to adjust the plan, adding a race/group ride, and how hard to go.
- 80% is a Passing Grade – Do not quit. Do something, even if its not ‘perfect’!
- 90% of Life is Showing up – Show up daily and success follows. Consistency is everything. Do things that enhance your ability to show up and do not do things that will affect your ability to show up (hero workouts, poor lifestyle habits, fad diets, etc)
- “Much of the Training Process is spent purposefully *NOT* going 100%” – a quote from Dan Cleather. Most days of the week should feel good and be low intensity to ensure consistent, long-term, healthy, and enjoyable training. Save 100% for Race day.
If you get frustrated, please email peterglassford@gmail.com, and we can address any concerns or points of ‘friction’ you are having. Again, very normal to be a bit confused and feel like there is a lot to get set up in these first few days!
