This was a super fun article to do for Nylon, a deep dive into what the deal with collagen is. I’m a big fan, and it’s been making the rounds in the ‘wellness’ community the last few months. Personally, I dig it because it’s flavorless and can actually dissolve in hot beverages—a thing you’re definitely not supposed to do with a whey or other protein—so it’s basically the easiest source of protein out there. For road trips, it’s become pretty much invaluable, since it’s sometimes hard to get enough protein, but when I can mix it into my coffee and get a good amount, awesome! I use the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (I also love that they have travel-size packets too!) and while I can’t say that they’ve magically healed my gut and cleared up my skin (though I also won’t say that they haven’t!), they’ve certainly given me an easy way to ensure I’m taking in a clean source of protein, and that’s been a huge deal in this lead up to Ironman!
