Closing out the year, I wanted to share one of my favorite pieces that I wrote this year: Svein Tuft’s Final Ride, written for Rally Healthcare. Svein is a badass. The old-school Andorra-dwelling Canadian bikepacked to training camp 20 years ago, before it was cool. He got into cycling to get to the rocks to climb. He still wakes up before his teammates to run on the beach, do yoga, take a dip in the ocean, and scramble on rocks, before the training actually starts. He’s been one of the coolest characters in cycling, and writing about this living legend in his last year of racing was such an honor. So, to close out the year and Svein’s last year of racing before he retired, check out this story on his career, longevity, health in general, and philosophy. It’s a good one.
