(10hrs, 10hrs, 5hrs including stops). It was hard but still enjoyable at that pace. Two major items which dictate the difficulty on this trail: 1) pack weight, 2) fitness level.

Pack weight: You need to keep this to a minimum! My pack was 13lbs before food / 17lbs with food. You should definitely aim for under 20lbs. There are many lightweight backpacking resources online to help with this.

Fitness Level: You will enjoy the trail much more with some training! I was training for a 4:00hr marathon at the time of the trip so my cardio was pretty good. I did also do stair climbs in my house with a 30lb pack. 50x two flights of stairs, every other day. I highly recommend that type of workout in the weeks leading up to your trip. Remember to taper the week before to let the body rest.

I would say September is the ideal month to complete this trail. Late October was a bit chilly although absolutely no bugs!
