Two options I found for booking—there’s the Tropical Tours shuttle bus that you can pre-book ($50, https://tropicaltourshuttles.com/routes/santa-teresa-shuttles/bus-santa-teresa-san-jose-airport/) that’s going to be the simpler option. But there is a much cheaper public transit bus (no pre-booking) that leaves at 6am and 2pm (https://centrocoasting.com/costarica/santa-teresa/) from the airport. (I found the bus to be a bit too stressful for me since I really prefer to have everything pre-booked!)
Other areas—I know loads of people who love Nosara for surf/yoga, but haven’t personally been there. We loved Santa Teresa so much that we just keep going back there! You can do a pretty easy tour of that whole coast and a lot of the small towns along it have a very surfer-y/yoga-y vibe. Good luck!!

Thank you for the advice on how to travel to Santa Teresa on a semi-budget – super useful :)! I’m planing a solo trip to Costa Rica, and I’m trying to book as much as possible from home. I would for instance like to book the 6 hour bus ride from San José to Santa Teresa, but I can’t seem to find a webpage where I can book. Can you help me out here :)? Or do I need to just book the bus, when I land in the airport?
Also, can you recommend other areas of Costa Rica to visit if you are traveling alone – and love yoga, surf and all that jazz (on a budget)?
Thank you <3!
