I love doing these Q&A episodes—this one was particularly fun since it had me re-reading my book Saddle, Sore: Ride Comfortable, Ride Happy for one of the Qs (I’m also amazed at how many articles I have up on that site!), and flipping through Fuel Your Ride for another! Peter and I also got into FOMO and how it crops up for athletes (which I wrote about a bunch in an article that will be up early next week, so stay tuned!). It’s always tough to see other people out having adventures when you’re working or just grinding away on a training ride, but trust me—most high level racers spend 95% of their time just grinding away on workouts vs racing every weekend.
Discussed on the episode:
- saddle issues on the trainer
- Fueling recovery in the hours-days after big workouts and races
- FOMO – missing out on big training + social media
- Getting lightheaded/bonking on MTB but not road?!??!
- How to train when weather or context (hills etc) not perfect
And as always, let us know what you think by leaving us a rating or review on iTunes! Those ratings/reviews really do help us book big guests on the show, and as we’re getting into Year 3 of running the podcast, we’re looking even harder at what the future holds for it, so if you’ve found yourself tuning in over the last couple years, please share the love.
